Ricard Terré

, Ricard Terré (Sant Boi de Llobregat, 1928 – Vigo 2009) is considered one of the most prominent photographers of the generation Afal, (1950-1960). He studied at the School of High Studies of Trade of Barcelona. Started in the art world as a painter and cartoonist. He started to practice photography in childhood with cameras rudimentary, some made by himself. In 1955, he became a partner of the Photography group Catalonia, where he held his first exhibition with Ramón Masats and Xavier Miserachs in 1957. Two years later, opened the mythical sala Aixelà with the exposure TMMII that I was going to start the renovation of the photography in Spain. In 1959, he moved his residence to Galicia, a land that was inspired by his rural world intact and his way of understanding the religion in the collective rituals. Since then he has participated in many editorial projects and exhibitions, both in Spain and abroad. Its international projection has been growing out of the hand of Christian Caujolle and the agency parisian Vú’. His photograph, of a great thematic coherence and formal, has a character that makes it identifiable, even taking into account the diversity of the series that has been produced throughout his career. In 2008, a year before his death, he received the Premio Bartolomé Ros to the best photographic career, awarded by the festival PhotoEspaña photography.
